Bedford Rowing Club at National Flower Day - Henley Royal Regatta 2006

It's Friday at Henley Royal Regatta. While some clubs may be following the fortunes of their clubmates on the water, unfortunately racing on Friday at HRR is a distant memory for Bedford. Let us hope that all changes some time soon, but in the meantime let us rejoice in our undoubted place at the top of the league for respecting National Flower Day, which conveniently happens to fall on Henley Friday each year.

Starting off all those years ago with a few humble daffs and daisies, competition is now fierce to produce the finest floral erection of the Regatta. A jury is now carefully selected from the unsuspecting crowds; they must choose wisely, as seeing Shirl losing out on the top spot is not a pretty sight (and makes him very bitter and twisted, see the Rule changes that he has unilaterally introduced for 2007 at the foot of this page).

A selection of shots from 2006, to whet the appetite:

Assemble 11:45ish in Fawley Bar for a prompt parade commencement of 12:15.

Prizes:
There are three awards of an amusing nature, and as last year, the judges will be selected by Emma from the wide array of fillies not associated with our party.
