Press Release from Bedford Rowing Club - 15th August 2006
Amy Lindsey led the way at Peterborough Summer Regatta on Saturday 12th August, by winning the Women's Novice Single Sculls event convincingly. Racing over the 1000 metre course in only her third event, she was the fastest of 16 entrants to win the event.
In a day that showed the depth of experience of the squads, all the other entrants from Bedford Rowing Club progressed through their first round elimination races, so finally the club had 6 other crews racing high-quality opposition in the event finals. They were the a Men's Senior One Eights, a Men's Senior One Coxed Fours, a Women's Senior Two Pair, a Women's Senior Three Double Sculls, Amelia Buckingham in Women's Novice Sculls and Ben Knowles in Men's Senior Three Sculls.
The next event organised by Bedford Rowing Club is the Autumn Small Boats Head to be held on Sunday 15th October. Further details can be found at www.bedfordrowing.co.uk.
