Sunday 22 January 2006 saw the launch of 'Chase Me', the latest addition to the Bedford RC fleet. The Eton Racing Boats eight, purchased with the proceeds of an anonymous bequest to the Club, is the new top eight for the ladies' squad. Launching the boat Ian Codrington said that he hoped that the boat would live up to its name and always lead the way in its races! The first test will be Peterborough Head on 4 February, closely followed by its first race on its home stretch of river at the Bedford Eights & Fours Head on Sunday 12 February.
