Helpers to run Club Events

Posted In : Latest News

BRC holds three Heads, in October, February and April and the Sprint Regatta in July. These events are a major source of income for the Club and we are always short of helpers to act as Marshals, Monitors and others roles such as time keeping at the start, finish and the clubhouse.

The duty shifts vary from one division (approx two hours) to morning or afternoon shifts of four to five hours and are spread from Twin Bridges at Kempston to the Butterfly Bridge on Longholme.

You do not have to be a rower or ex rower but some basic details of the course, radio protocol, rules of racing and terminology about  boats and crews is useful.

John Layng and Mike Perry would be happy to run a short training session to encourage more members or parents of members who would be prepared to help. We understand that Saturday 31st January  at 12.00 would be the best time for most people.

If you would like to help please come along. The next head is Sunday, February 15th.
