Men Show Promise at Nottingham RegattaPosted In : Latest News
After a winter of cancelled events Nottingham was the first chance our senior men had to see where they are amongst their competition. First race was the IM2 8+ with Will Japp, Benn Klewpatinod, Jonti Vincent, Andrew Hovell, Josh Harris, Matt Farley, Piero De Marchis, Mike Evans coxed by Charlie Chandler with some tough competition they were in the pack from the start but struggled to execute their racing plan and failed to qualify to the final but came away with some improvements to be made before their next race.
Their second race was the IM2 4+ with Will Japp, Benn Klewpatinod, Jonti Vincent & Andrew Hovell coxed by Charlie Chandler had some good competition in their heat and were able to execute their racing plan and finished 2nd behind Royal Chester RC but felt their were some improvements to be had in the final.
Knowing their were a few quicker crews in the final it was decieded to stay consistent and make sure they completed their race plan and give the best possible time and after a very strong start they were one of the quickest out of the start and completed the course very strong finishing in a very impressive 2nd behind a quick Westminster School crew coached by ex Bedford RC's own Josh Butler, who look promising for this years National Schools Regatta.
