Bedford Rowing Club were eager to get started with our Adaptive rowing programme and help bring adaptive athletes to the sport of rowing.

Laura, pictured below who was a keen tennis player and decided to change sport and fancied giving rowing a try, after a few successful paddles with our coaching team, Laura became very natural within the boat and is attending the National Adaptive Development Camp being held this weekend.

Bedford Rowing Club are working hard to make rowing accessible to all and have invested a great deal of time and money through grants from Sport England, British Rowing and the Bedford Charity to improve their facilities and equipment to help accommodate and inspire those that would normally find rowing a sport that is not an option for them.

Our new and improved facilities now comprise a disabled toilet, stair lift, new flooring in our boathouse and improved security for the club.

We have also invested in improving our fleet of boats to make it easier for new people to the sport to try rowing in stable boats ideal for people who have never been out on the water before.
